The communications
workshop will be hosted by Diane Carrington. Diane is Senior
Consultant at Positiveworks. Diane is an experienced Corporate
Trainer and Coach who designs and delivers bespoke programmes for
individuals and organisations throughout the world. She works with
multi national organisations and individuals to develop
communication skills and is particularly committed to improving
people’s work-life balance and in giving them the skills to work
smarter and to cope with the pressures and stresses of life. These
skills include: Mind-mapping; Speed reading; Leadership Skills,
Creative Management and she designs and tailors workshops to client
needs. |

Diane co authored a book, ‘Future Directions;
practical ways to develop confidence and Emotional
Intelligence in young people’’ published by
Continuum Press. She has written numerous articles
for publications, including newspapers and magazines
and has appeared on BBC TV and Radio throughout the
UK and on the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation.
Diane speaks as a motivational and keynote speaker
at conferences and has delivered sessions throughout
the world including in Europe, Dubai, Barbados and
Australia.
Diane’s background is in facilitation and training
and she has worked with multi-national organisations
for over 25 years. She has a Masters degree in
Applied Psychology from Brunel University, a B.Sc
degree in Psychology and Research Methodology, a
Post Graduate Certificate in Education and is
trained in NLP techniques.

Using
Your Mind at Work – Introduction to Neuro Linguistic
Programming: An introduction to how the brain works
and how we can harness its power to become even more
successful in communications. This will include the
Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument; a personal
psychometric test which defines the way we prefer to
think and communicate and an introduction to NLP, Neuro
Linguistic Programming, to enhance communication and
personal influence.

Mind
Mapping as a Practical Tool: Mind Mapping, developed
by Tony Buzan, is used by individuals and organisations
throughout the world to: communicate clearly, think
creatively, plan effectively, memorise efficiently and
improve confidence.
Delegates will learn how to create their own mind maps
and will have the opportunity to use them to work on
their own current challenges whether at work or in their
studies.

Speed Reading Techniques:
The strategies and techniques learnt will enable
delegates to read faster and to manage the increasing
volume of written materials that they are bombarded with
every day. It will be possible to escape from the
overwhelming feeling that there is something of
importance buried beneath in the ever increasing pile!

Negotiating and Building Rapport: Using the NLP
techniques of modeling excellence, discovering the truth
behind non verbal behaviour and language and resolving
conflict, delegates will be able to practice their
negotiating skills. Relevant scenarios will give
delegates the chance to practice these enriched
communication skills in a supportive and engaging
environment.
