The Caribbean Regional Compliance Association
(CRCA) is pleased to announce that the 5th annual Regional
Compliance Conference will be held in Trinidad and Tobago -
November 10th to 11th with additional Communication Workshop and
Basel II Training to follow on the 12th. 1. All Financial Services are placing increased emphasis on Anti Money Laundering during their onsite reviews and a part of their review often involves a specific request for details of compliance training undertaken by compliance staff. What will your reply be to this question? The CRCA conference will provide over 14 hours of auditable compliance training. 2. This year the CRCA has secured Richard Berkhout of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) for the Key Note Address. This is the first opportunity compliance staff in the Caribbean will have to hear first hand from the pre eminent standards setting organization in the world. 3. Regulators generally have increased their drive to have Board members and compliance staff appropriately trained – there are few opportunities in the Caribbean for training events like this. 4. The cost of sending staff to similar events in the USA tend to be high and the benefits of attending a seminar locally are easy to see – flights to the US can cost anywhere between US$500 and US$1,000 depending on timings and hotels for conference events of this caliber tend to be around US$200 per night. This means the opportunity to attend a regional event will be saving your company money overall and provide a regional perspective that may not be available at US events. 5. Sending all your staff to an event within the region means that they have topics of conversation and become motivated together by the off site training experience – staff can also select specific streams within the conference and then share their feedback so spreading the learning experience 6. Compliance staff will have the opportunity to see new products and services on exhibition that can be labour saving in their day to day activities and that otherwise might take months to research and to participate in additional complementary workshops Communications. The compliance function on the whole is still relatively new to the Caribbean region and CRCA aims to try and provide a practical and cost effective solution to compliance training needs. In addition we have arranged an ACAMS exam workshop and examination in conjunction with the CRCA conference. This will be the only Caribbean location for this exam in 2008 – again removing the need for staff to travel to the US for testing and so saving cost We can offer group discounts on request so please take advantage of this comprehensive, networking opportunity and register today. |
