Hon. Rhondalee Braithwaite Knowles, OBE KC, is the Attorney General of the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI), where she plays a vital role in upholding the rule of law and providing high-quality legal services to the Government. As a native of Grand Turk, she has built an exceptional career through her dedication to the legal profession and her unwavering commitment to the development of the public service in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Rhondalee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Government and History (Hons) from Liberty University in Virginia, USA, a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB Hons) from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados, a Certificate of Legal Education from the Eugene Dupuch Law School in the Bahamas and a Certificate in legislative drafting from the University of London’s School of Advanced Legal Studies. She was admitted to the Bar of the Turks and Caicos Islands in 2000 after training as Crown Counsel in the Attorney General’s Chambers.

Her distinguished legal career includes senior roles in the Attorney General’s Chambers, culminating in her appointment as the first Turks and Caicos Islander, youngest person, and first woman to serve as Attorney General in 2014. In recognition of her service, she was awarded an OBE by  Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2013 and became King’s Counsel in 2019.

As Attorney General, Rhondalee is chair of the Anti-Money Laundering Committee, served as Chair of the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force in 2016 and will be Deputy Chair of that organisation again in November 2025, becoming Chair in December 2026.  She is also a board member of the Financial Intelligence Agency.  Her expertise in legislative drafting, civil litigation, constitutional law, and international compliance empowers the Turks and Caicos Islands to ensure compliance with AML standards and maintain its active participation in the global fight against illicit finance.
