Sheynel Smith is a globally recognized compliance and risk executive, legal strategist, and author with over a decade of leadership in financial services, digital assets, and offshore finance. As Managing Director of Driftwood Advisory Services Ltd, she serves as a non-executive director and advisor to financial institutions, guiding clients through complex compliance, governance, and regulatory challenges across the U.S., EU, APAC, and offshore jurisdictions.
Featured in Forbes for her pioneering work in crypto and fintech compliance, Sheynel has led global AML/CFT strategy, sanctions and KYC frameworks, crypto-derivatives regulation, and enterprise risk management successfully engaging regulators such as the SEC, CFTC, BaFin, MAS, FinCEN, and the BVI FSC. She previously held senior roles with Deloitte & Touche, the Financial Investigation Agency, and Maples and Calder, where she built compliance programs, contributed to FATF evaluations, and trained supervisory authorities.
