
Chidi Liburd
Chidi Liburd is a distinguished financial services executive and educator with over two decades of experience in banking, strategic leadership, and higher education across the Caribbean. She currently serves as Executive Director of the HLSCC Robert Mathavious Institute for Financial Services (RMI) in the British Virgin Islands, where she leads the advancement of professional development and education in support of the region’s financial services sector.
In her role at RMI, Ms. Liburd oversees the design and delivery of specialized training programs that respond to the evolving needs of industry professionals. Under her leadership, the Institute has launched key initiatives focused on building knowledge in areas such as blockchain, digital assets, accounting, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. Her commitment to workforce development and knowledge-sharing continues to enhance regional capacity and regulatory understanding.
Ms. Liburd’s career includes key leadership positions such as Vice President of Finance and Administrative Affairs at Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) in St. Kitts, Chief Financial Officer at the National Commercial Bank of Anguilla, and Executive Manager at the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Limited. These roles have honed her expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and institutional leadership.
Academically, Ms. Liburd holds a Master of Science degree in International Securities, Investment and Banking from the University of Reading, an LLB (Bachelor of Laws) with First Class Honours from the University of Essex, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Accounting from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), an Associate Member of the International Compliance Association (ICA), and a proud Commonwealth Scholar. She is currently pursuing a Diploma in Legal Practice (LPC), reflecting her ongoing commitment to professional excellence.
In recognition of her leadership and regional engagement, Ms. Liburd was appointed to the Steering Committee for the 2025 Caribbean Regional Compliance Association (CRCA) Conference and serves as Jurisdiction Liaison for St. Kitts and Nevis. In this capacity, she plays a central role in coordinating the host country’s efforts and supporting the successful execution of the upcoming conference.
She is also instrumental in the establishment of the St. Kitts & Nevis Compliance Association, a new initiative that aims to support local compliance professionals through capacity building, peer networking, and continuing education. The association will form part of CRCA’s membership, further strengthening regional collaboration and integration within the compliance community.
